Element of Fun…(Ne)

Standard

Not sure if it’s because its officially May…or if it’s the hot & sticky 80 degree weather…but I feel like it’s already summer around these parts!

Which for some reason stirs up the desire in me to add pops of neon pink to my wardrobe!

Here is a little “(Ne)Pink” inspiration…

What do you think? Too gauche?  Or just fun…I’m leaning more towards fun!

I’ve Got the Fever…

Standard

…Spring Fever that is!!

It will be a month (at least) until we start to see spring’s pops of color here in MN…but maybe if I incorporate a little color into my wardrobe it will liven the month of March up!

Here is a little color inspiration to help ease my spring fever:

…Hope you have a wonderful & colorful Monday!

A Bit of the Wild…

Standard

Since it is a new year and all…I thought it might be fun to spice things up in my wardrobe department!  And what better way to add some spice than with a bit of wild animal…leopard to be exact.

Here is a bit of leopard inspiration that I’ve been eyeing:

…Do you have a favorite piece of “animal” print in your wardrobe?

Stylish Transitions…

Standard

I guess this post should really be called un-stylish transitions…because that would define me!  I tend to have a little trouble in the fashion department when it comes to seasonal changes.  With autumn in full swing here in Minnesota I’m wishing I had some cute jackets & scarves rather than just my bulky winter coats.

Here is what I wish I looked like this fall…

…If only these jackets, hats, scarves & bags could magically appear in my closet!!

Underwater Inspiration…

Standard

I am blown away by certain designer’s creativity… for instance Marchesa‘s designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig.  Their Spring 2012 runway show was straight out of an underwater dream:

…Sticking to a palette of mostly white, nude, cinnamon and black, the pair presented layers of tulle, embroidery, draped organza, and sheer mesh…As for their inspiration, the designers were influenced by nautical themes including the 19th-century Ilya Repin painting “Sadko in the Underwater Kingdom,” and Ernst Haeckel drawings of tentacles and jellyfish.

I’m a little bit in love with the beautiful, lush looks from Zac Posen‘s Spring 2012 collection…as the man behind the gorgeous creations says…

Color-blocking Craze…

Standard

The color-blocking trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.  Sometimes bright & bold, other times muted & pale…the color-blocking craze has been hitting the runways once again for fashion week:

Jenny’s Rainbow…

Standard

Jenny Packham‘s Spring 2012 show is full of gorgeous, airy, light & colorful gowns that look straight out of a rainbow.  As Ms. Packham’s Runway Program states…

“…gleaming skies of opal whites and azure blues, painted with lavish glittering brush strokes and arresting vivid rainbow hues of geranium reds, sunset oranges, lemon drop yellows and citrus limes, ending with dazzling encrusted Swarovski crystals in radiant golds.”
