It has been a long time since I hit the slopes, but I was reminded how much I adore skiing this past weekend.  Depending on your mood you’re able to make it exciting and exhilarating…or relaxing and peaceful. 

I’m also fascinated by other skiers and snowboarders as they come down the different runs in the bright white, powdery snow! 

But after watching this video by Jacob Sutton of a glowing snowboarder gliding through the snow at night…I’m thinking skiing by starlight might really be where it’s at!

…ahhh, the combination of cinematography, lighting and music make this video so soothing to watch!

I’ve been busy skiing with friends in Michigan this weekend…and in-between hitting the slopes I rediscovered how delicious White Russian cocktails are!  While sipping away and gazing at the powdery snow outside I felt like I should be reading Tolstoy!

Now I know I shouldn’t be posting about a cocktail on a Monday…but I do have the day off so it still feels like the weekend!!  Perhaps if you don’t mix a drink tonight you could try one of these White Russian inspired treats!

Valentine’s Day has come and gone…but love appears to still be on my mind! 

I’ve been checking out this sweet project by photographer Lauren Fleishman, which she describes as…

Love Ever After will share the love stories of couples who have been married for at least 50 years. Inspired by a letter my grandfather wrote to my grandmother during World War II (and rediscovered after he passed away in 2007), I began photographing and interviewing couples in the New York area as a way to preserve their stories and to illuminate our universal experience of love.

What are your thoughts on receiving roses for Valentine’s Day?  Is it too cliché for your tastes? 

Roses are so classic & beautiful in my mind…that I’d be happy to receive them on V-Day (or any day for that matter).

Red, pink, white, or yellow…one, two or a dozen…yup, I’d be happy as a clam to get this beautiful V-Day cliché!
