“People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and ends,

but to me it’s quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades

and intonations with each passing moment.

A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors.

Waxy yellows, cloud-spot blues. Murky darkness.”

—Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

Reactions Captured Forever…

Standard

Have you ever had great news that you can’t wait to share with someone…and then their reaction adds to your joy?!  What if you captured those reactions to have as proof for all times?  That is exactly what Tom Robinson did when he photographed his friends & family the moment he told them “I’m going to be a Dad!”  What a clever, sweet way to document the happy news!

The photo above is Robinson’s parents hearing the news…here are a few more great reactions:

{His Sister via Skype}

{His Friends at the Curry}

{Her Brothers –who he said soon went back to their computer game}

{His Friend Harwin –who he said doesn’t care for children}

Aren’t they great…be sure to check out Robinson’s site for more!

A Year of Mornings…

Standard

“The only way to have a friend is to be one.”  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Yesterday, August 7th was International Friendship Day which honors the truly valuable role friends play in our lives.  I hope you were able to be amongst your dear friends to enjoy it.

Have you browsed through the book A Year of Mornings: 3191 Miles Apart by Maria Alexandra Vettese & Stephanie Congdon Barnes?  I just did & it was lovely.  Two friends embarked on a photographic journey in which they each documented their mornings for a year…even though they were thousands of miles apart.

Not only is it a wonderful testament to the bonds of friendship but also a simple, beautiful journal of those precious daily moments we too often pass by.

Have a splendid morning…
