Meet & Eat…

Standard

How’s this for a fun idea…

“Meet & Eat”

Get a bowl,

Fill with names of restaurants you’ve wanted to try out,

Draw one out and meet a group of friends there for a meal out…

Repeat every month!

Have you ever done a dinner club before?  Since I adore food & good company this seems like an ingenius idea!!

I’m on my way up north for some fun on the water…

On the pontoon
Makin’ waves and catchin’ rays up on the roof
Jumpin’ out the back, don’t act like you don’t want to
Party in slow motion
Out here in the open
Mmmmmmm…motorboatin’

İyi yolculuklar…

Standard

İyi yolculuklar…is essentially ”Bon Voyage” in Turkish!

Turkey is number one on my list of places to visit. But Greece and Germany are a close second…so I guess I could be saying: Καλό ταξίδι or Gute Reise! I’ve got a little travel-themed question and answer post for you today:

{Question 1}

If you could go anywhere in the world (pretend cost wasn’t a factor), where would you go?

My Answer: As I said above…Turkey! I’m enthralled by the rich history, exquisite architechture, gorgeous coastline and of course the people! One day I hope to get there!!

…What’s your answer??

{Question 2}

What was your favorite vacation/trip? Or where is your favorite place you’ve already been to?

My Answer: My favorite vacation was to the Dominican Republic…I honestly felt such utter and complete peace and happiness on that vacation, mainly because I was so young and without the worries of the real world! My favorite trip was studying abroad in South Africa…it was filled with so many complex experiences and emotions that left me forever changed (hopefully for the better)!

…What’s your answer??

{Ridiculously happy in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic}

{Question 3}

What was your worst vacation/trip? Or where is a place you’d like to never visit again?

My Answer: When traveling with my family we tend to be prone to disasters…my mother’s retina detaching/having emergency surgery in France, my own sun poisoning in the Carribean, our stationwagon overheating and the engine dying in the desert of New Mexico…you name it, it has probably happened to us. But despite it all, I don’t think we’ve ever had a trip that I’ve completely regreted. With that being said I’m not a fan of the Lambert-St. Louis airport!

…What’s your answer??

{Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico before our car overheated …check out those acid wash jeans & Zebra shirt!!}

{Question 4}

Where is your favorite place to go as a day-trip near your home?

My Answer: Duluth, MN…such a charming little city nestled along the chilly banks of Lake Superior. Even the scenic drive north is enjoyable…spring, summer, fall & winter!  Another lovely daytrip from the Twin Cities is to Red Wing, MN.  Along with it’s picturesque location admist the bluffs of the Mississippi River this town is famous for pottery, antiques and Red Wing Shoes.

…What’s your answer??

{Gorgeous fall colors near Duluth!}

29 for 29…

Standard

I’ve got a red, white & blue hangover today!  I’m still wanting to watch fireworks, grill out, play lawn games and run around with sparklers…but alas real life and work is back in full force today!

In an effort to delay actually working today I’ve been trying to come up with a bucket-list for the last year of my twenties…29 things to do while I’m 29.

I haven’t gotten too far…can you help?  Any fun ideas of things I should do/try?

Days Gone By…

Standard

…do you have a favorite summer memory from your childhood?

A few of mine:

~Climbing my crab apple tree and reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books in the branches

~Trying to capture fireflies on my grandparents’ tennis court in Ohio

~Running up & down the hills outside of church which were filled with dandelions ( I mean filled)

~Playing night games with the neighborhood kids (sardines, kick the can, capture the flag, flashlight tag…)

~Biking to my best friends house…everyday (backpack filled w/all of our secret club goodies)

~Puckered skin & pink shoulders from swimming all day…not to mention sand hiding in my bathing suit

~Camping with my family (always an adventure, usually ending with a flooded tent)

~Going to the drive-in movie theater with family friends (where our parents would hold blankets up/turn the volume down during *racy* scenes)

~Learning to water-ski…after a whole day of trying and failing I said “1 more time” at dusk and that was the magic moment…up I went!
