Joe Fox: Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms.

Spiked Mulled Cider…
This weekend my plans consist of nada, nil, nothing…and I couldn’t be more excited to just lounge around & sleep in! I’m thinking in between vegging out on the couch I may have to try out this warm, delicious looking drink!
{Spiked Mulled Cider}
1 gallon of apple cider or juice
2 cups of spiced rum
1 cup of Mulling Spices*
1 vanilla bean
1 orange, sliced
1 teaspoon of ground clove
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
Cinnamon Sticks, Star Anise and Cloves for Garnish
Put all ingredients into a large pot on your stove and simmer on low. Serve warm.
*If you’d like to make your own Mulling Spices, combine whole cloves, star anise, and allspice, OR you can buy it from Williams-Sonoma Mulling Spices
…yum, it’s warming me up just looking at it!!
