Yesterday I was home sick in bed and while falling in and out of sleep I caught up on some Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes. I watched most of season seven which culminates around a Seinfeld reunion. Oh how I loved Seinfeld. And watching Larry David & Jerry Seinfeld go tit for tat was just what the doctor ordered to get me feeling a little better!
The only thing missing from the reunion episode was the infamous Frank Costanza, played by Jerry Stiller…that man is comedy gold!
…Do you have a favorite show or movie that is guaranteed to make you laugh time after time?

Last night was spent roasting marshmallows at my best friend from high school’s beautiful new home in St. Paul. She and her husband just moved back to Minnesota after living out East. In an effort to find a decent housewarming gift…I decided to embrace our dear state Minnesota as inspiration. Here are a few MN-lovin’ ideas:
Oh-so fabulous new poster of Saint Paul by Ork Posters:
Nicolette Island print by Mark Herman, which happens to be where my friend got married:
A book that highlights MN’s home-grown goodness:
The cutest little cheese board, with a delicate heart cut-out right on St. Paul:
It’s that time of the year again. Leaves are changing. School is starting. And football’s bright lights are once again shining! Here’s to happy new memories watching the pig-skin fly…whether it’s pee-wee, high school, college or NFL (or all of the above).
Wish me luck on my fantasy football auction this weekend…I need all the help I can get after last year’s disappointing season (I blame it on the Randy Moss curse)! Hope you have a lovely weekend…

Is it time for another drink recipe…why yes, yes it is! This one looks especially yummy to me as I have a slight obsession with Iced Tea!
Originally posted on Design*Sponge, here is a concoction by Emily Maynard entitled Sweet Tea Sipper:
Ingredients:
- one part vodka (used Rain organic vodka)
- three parts Rooibee Red Watermelon Mint Tea
- ice
- sliced watermelon
- basil leaf or sprig
Methodology:
Fill glass with one part vodka followed by three parts tea until glass is approximately 3/4 full. Stir gently with a spoon. Add plenty of ice, along with a tiny slice of watermelon on the glass rim and a sprig of basil leaves or a single leaf in the drink. (Feel free to use mint, but we think basil — in the same family — tempers the sweetness nicely!)
P.S. Emily is the genius behind the jewelry line Elva Fields. Oh how I covet her bright, colorful necklaces…alas my budget does not allow me to purchase any, so I just have to dream!
Check out Design*Sponge for endless design ideas (and apparently drinks too) & Elva Fields for amazingly beautiful jewelry!
Happy sipping…

I used to be a nanny…and I’m starting to think it may have been the best job ever. What began as a one year stint turned into four amazing years of watching two incredible boys blossom and grow each and every day.
I miss the daily joys of being with them; of hearing about their highs & lows and watching as they brave new experiences. I miss them…achingly so. I can only begin to imagine the kind of love a parent feels for their children, it must be so vast & great.
I’m thankful that I still live close by my favorite little guys, so that I can see them every now & then. Today is one of those days…so excuse me while I skip out of the office early!

A friend from college has courageously followed her dreams and recorded her first full length album, delightfully entitled Ruby Red Shoes. She is performing here in Minneapolis tomorrow night at the Fine Line, and I wish I had a pair of ruby red shoes to wear to the concert!
Being that I’m not very adventurous in the fashion department, maybe I should first try out red flats before I move to pumps…baby steps! Here are some options:
Choices, choices…hmmm…in the meantime I think I’ll listen to some more of Sarah’s music!!

Yesterday’s East Coast earthquake certainly was interesting…it was apparently strong enough to leave cracks in the Washington Monument. While I’m glad no one was hurt, it did make me smile to see this little gem put on sale at the Etsy shop Corduroy the day of the ground shaking:
I really came to the Etsy shop to purchase one of the Honey Badger mugs for my friend Jen who introduced me to the hilarious YouTube video about the badass Honey Badger. Have you watched it? I think it’s a hoot…watch it here, but be forewarned that there is some swearing involved!
